By measuring the surface resistance of materials normally considered to be electrically nonconductive and indicating the degree of sprayability on a standard scale, the Sprayability/Paint Test Meter can determine whether such materials can be electrostatically sprayed.
Designed to provide measurement of the electrical resistance of paint formulations for all electrostatic applications as well as the short circuit current (SCI) of electrostatic applicators.
It has an SCI scale (0 to 250 microamperes) and paint resistance scales (infinity to 0.01 and 2.0 to 0.001 in megohms).
The Paint Test Meter and Probe features:
• Digital multi-scale meter with integrated Sprayability Meter.
• Matching Paint Resistance Probe.
• Gun output test leads for short circuit current (SCI).
• Certified as ASTM standard.
Ransburg Multifunction Electrostatic Meter - Test Equipment
Caracteristici:
This meter has two (2) scales, MΩ and kΩ that may be used for the measurement of the paint resistance.
Once the resistance of the paint is determined and found to spray successfully, measuring resistivity with this meter provides a way to duplicate conditions.
This is also important when troubleshooting problems with spray or rotational applicators.

Testing and the measurement of the electrical resistance of paint formulations
De ce este important rezistivitatea vopselei?
Paint resistivity is the most important factor to determine whether the paint formulation is suitable for the electrostatic painting process.
Also important: When high voltage is applied, the properties of some coating materials may change (for example metal flakes and coatings with metallic content), i.e. when measured they feature high resistivity, but have actually low resistivity when applied under high voltage.
